Giving is not just about making a donation, it’s about making a difference ~ Kathy Calvin
HUNGER is most often associated with poverty and the inability to put food on the table consistently. However, in today’s changing environment, many individuals are working harder than ever and still suffering from the distress associated with lack of food. Seniors are the fastest growing food insecure population in the country and are too often overlooked. Forty-five percent of 2-year college students worry about where their next meal is coming from, skip meals or go without food for entire days. One in 4 Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans who selflessly fought for their country don’t have enough food to eat.
Food is a basic need and yet hunger has many faces. We can do more! We can provide access to safe and nutritious food so those affected by food insecurity can maintain an active and healthy life. We can provide hope for future generations by educating our children, instilling in them a sense of responsibility and the inspiration to see the possibilities for a bright future for their community and beyond.
How a gift in your will makes an impact for generations to come.
By making a donation to Healthy Harvest Food Bank, you will help those who struggle with food insecurity and health related dietary issues today. But what about tomorrow and the next day and into the future?
You can make a lasting impact on the faces of hunger by leaving your legacy to Healthy Harvest Food Bank. Supporting our programs and services means that every single day children, seniors and families who don’t have enough to eat have a resource in their community to turn to for healthy, nutritious food. You can help ensure that future generations grow up healthy by including the food bank in your will or estate planning.
Here’s How:
Bequests and Wills
Consider adding the food bank as a beneficiary in your will. You may be able to add a simple codicil for a charitable bequest to an existing will.
Gifts of Beneficiary Designations
Naming the food bank as the beneficiary of your retirement plan assets, insurance plan, or savings account is the simplest way to make a planned gift and you can easily change your plans if your life circumstances change.
When you complete your beneficiary designation form, just name Healthy Harvest Food Bank as full or partial beneficiary and provide our tax ID number (EIN# 27-3080400).
